We’ve got some great news! Following a recent visit from inspectors, we’ve been rated a ‘good’ school by Ofsted.
Everyone at Southbroom Infants’ School has been working very hard to maintain and build upon the high standards of care and education in place at our school. It’s extremely gratifying to have received such a positive rating from Ofsted.
Within the report, our school has been praised for the welcoming and friendly atmosphere at the school: “Positive relationships are a valued and palpable characteristic of the school. Pupils say that bullying is not something that they worry about.”
The report also gives us even more reasons to be extremely proud of our pupils. The report states that our children “are typically well mannered and eager to discuss what they enjoy about their school”, and that they “enjoy inviting guests to the school” and “know the importance of eating healthily and keeping fit.”
Additionally, the report recognised the changes that have taken place since our new principal, Joanne Jardim, started in January. The report stated: “The recently appointed headteacher has set out the high expectations she expects for all pupils. There is a renewed optimism, a clear sense of direction and an ambition for pupils to achieve more.”
Since our last inspection, Ofsted has adjusted it’s framework to make achieving a ‘good’ rating significantly more challenging. To have maintained such a positive grade is something that we are truly proud of.
Nonetheless, we also acknowledge that there are still a number of improvements to be made. Everyone at our school remains steadfastly committed to making Southbroom the best it can be. With the continued support of The White Horse Federation, we are confident that this will be achieved.
We’d like to thank all our staff, pupils, their families, and the whole school community for helping make Southbroom an amazing place for children to start their educational journey.
