Southbroom Infants’ School is built on a foundation of values that are promoted throughout the school and permeate everything we do. These values are an integral part of school life and education, as well as the growth and moral development of our pupils.
This academic year, we are giving particular focus to six key values:
They will be highlighted throughout the school year, with each individual value being the primary focus for a term at a time. The values are used to form the overarching mantra of life at our school, which we call ‘The Southbroom Way’: “Be honest, be kind, be resilient, show friendship, show cooperation, show respect”.
These values, and ‘The Southbroom Way’, are great features of Southbroom Infants’ and are integral to the fantastic learning environment that pervades the entire school. To maintain the prevalence of these values and continue teaching pupils their importance, all members of staff embody them in everything they do at school.
Under my headship, these values will be emphasised, and everyone involved with the school will be encouraged to exemplify them at every opportunity. In doing so, we will establish a caring school atmosphere and an excellent learning environment that is conducive to education and success.
In the near future, I will be examining ‘The Southbroom Way’ in its current guise and investigating ways in which it can be improved. At that time, I will consult with the school community to garner opinions and make a joint decision on any suggested alterations.
If you would like to have your say on our school values or suggest alterations to ‘The Southbroom Way’, I’d love to hear your opinion, so please contact the school on 01380 723184.
