Our governing body plays an important role, complementing and enhancing school leadership by:
- providing support and challenge,
- ensuring that all statutory duties are met,
- appointing the headteacher and
- holding them to account for the impact of the school’s work on improving outcomes for all pupils.
Our governors who are all volunteers and include parents, staff and members of our local community, bring a wide range of skills and expertise to support the leadership of our school. They are all interested in and enthusiastic about the education of all the children at Southbroom Infants School. Our governing body constantly asks ‘Are we doing the best we can for our children?’
